Our Creative Team works backstage at runway shows, photo shoots and hair shows with high-end designers, and has styled in New York, Miami, LA, Paris, Stockholm, Riyadh, Beirut and Dubai. Every stylist on our team can earn a place on it.

Career path · Four stages
Every stylist follows the same path. How fast you move through it is up to you.
Apprenticeship
6 to 12 months with one mentor, ending in our Principle-Based Design certification. Read about the Apprenticeship Program.
Foundation Stylist
Your first chair. JJS marketing and the front desk fill your book from day one, so you start with guests instead of a blank calendar.
Levels 1 to 8
Junior Stylist through Visionary Director. Higher levels add guest deposits that protect your time, specializations you can charge for, and the chance to mentor an apprentice or teach.
Leadership, education, ownership
Responsibilities lead into our 8 to 12 month leadership program, then management with profit share, then salon ownership with the whole JJS family behind you.

Do I need salon experience to apply?
No. Every stylist starts with our Apprenticeship Program, including licensed stylists new to JJS. Recent cosmetology graduates and students finishing their hours are welcome. A Florida license is required before you work hands-on with guests.
What benefits do you offer?
Full-time eligible team members receive medical and Teladoc, with J. Joseph Salon paying 50% of the employee premium. Vacation days, schedule flexibility and specializations grow with your level, and management roles add profit share.
What roles are open?
Hair Stylist / Cosmetologist, Cosmetology or Barber Apprenticeship, and Guest Relations. Current openings in Tampa are on our job board.

Can I join the Creative Team?
Yes. It is open to every stylist building their career with us, and we also invite stylists from outside the company to join us for shows and shoots.
