Curly Hair Experience

Yes. The Curly Hair Experience at J. Joseph Salon is a haircut, cleanse and conditioning service for curls, done only by Certified Curl Specialists. The cut is shaped to your own curl pattern, and the products used are chosen for your texture.

Because curls shrink and sit differently when they are wet. Cutting dry, one curl at a time, lets the specialist shape the hair the way you actually wear it, so the length and the shape are right when you walk out, not a surprise after it dries.

Certified Curl Specialists at every J. Joseph Salon location: Land O' Lakes, Lutz, Tampa, Odessa and Wesley Chapel. We have two levels of specialist, Curly Cut Specialists and JJS Curly Certified stylists, who hold an advanced curl certification, and the booking page for each location shows who is available.

A curly haircut is $95 with a Curly Cut Specialist and $135 with a JJS Curly Certified stylist, the same at every stylist level. Online bookings carry a 50 percent deposit, which is applied to your service.

Come with your hair clean, dry, down and in its natural curl, air dried with no product. No gel or heavy cream, and no ponytail, clips or hat that day. The specialist needs to see your real pattern to cut it well.

Plan on one to two hours, depending on the length, density and condition of your curls. The cut is done curl by curl, then the hair is cleansed, conditioned and styled so you leave with the shape set.

Yes. Your specialist walks you through the products and the steps that suit your texture, so the result is one you can repeat at home.
