Consultation

Your stylist looks at your hair, matches the color against your own, explains the options and gives you an exact price for your install.

Your hair is ordered

If you go ahead, the install is booked and your Fearless Mane hair is ordered, color matched to your own.

Install

The hair is sewn onto a small beaded row, with no glue and no heat on the attachment, placed to carry the weight evenly.

Move ups

Every five to eight weeks the row is moved back up to the scalp as your hair grows. The same hair goes back in.

K-tip extensions

Extremely long sleek platinum blonde hair with K-tip extensions by J. Joseph Salon
What are K-tip extensions?

Small strands of one hundred percent Remy human hair with a keratin bond at the tip, attached strand by strand close to the scalp. Each bond is small and placed where it does not show, so K-tips suit finer hair, shorter hair, and guests who want fullness in specific places.

How long do K-tips last?

A K-tip install wears for about three to four months before the bonds have grown out and are removed and reinstalled. Your stylist removes them with a remover made for keratin bonds. Nothing is pulled.

Will K-tips damage my hair?

No, when they are placed and removed by a certified stylist. Each bond holds a section sized to the hair it attaches to, so the weight is spread across the head, and removal is done at the salon, never at home.

How much do K-tips cost?

Two parts, the hair and the installation. Installation is priced by the number of strands and your stylist level, and your exact quote comes from a complimentary consultation before any hair is ordered.

Wefts or K-tips, which is right for me?

Wefts give the most fullness and length with the fewest attachment points, and the hair is reused at every move up. K-tips give more customized placement and fewer maintenance appointments, with no move ups in between. A hybrid of wefts and K-tips is a popular choice for finer hair. Your stylist recommends the best method at the consultation.

How much do hand tied extensions cost at J. Joseph Salon?

A first install has two parts, the hair and the installation. Fearless Mane hair is one hundred percent Remy human hair, color matched to your own, and the amount you need depends on the length and fullness you want. Installation is priced by the number of rows and by your stylist level. Most first installs, hair and installation together, fall between about $1,100 and $1,800. Your exact quote comes from a complimentary consultation, before any hair is purchased.

How long do hand tied extensions last?

The hair lasts six to twelve months with proper care, and it is reused at every move up. The rows themselves need to be moved up every five to eight weeks as your natural hair grows. A move up visit tightens the row back to the scalp; the same hair goes back in.

Will hand tied extensions damage my hair?

Hand tied wefts are one of the gentlest methods there is. The hair is sewn onto a small beaded row, with no glue and no heat on the attachment, and your stylist, trained and certified on Fearless Mane hair, places the row to carry the weight evenly. Your part is the home care your stylist teaches you, how to brush, sleep and wash with the rows in, and keeping your move ups on schedule. Together that is what keeps your natural hair healthy.

Can anyone get hand tied extensions?

Most guests can, and the consultation is where we tell you honestly. Hair that is very fine, very short, or fragile may do better with K-tips, which we also place, or with a density placement install first. Your stylist assesses your density and the condition of your hair before recommending anything.

What happens at the consultation?

Your stylist looks at your hair, matches the color against your own, explains the options, hand tied wefts or K-tips, and the maintenance each one needs, and gives you an exact price for your install. If you decide to go ahead, the install is booked and your hair is ordered. The consultation is complimentary at every location and you can book it online.

Do you offer payment plans for extensions?

Yes. Pay over time options are available through our booking system, subject to approval. Ask at your consultation.

Where can I get extensions in Tampa Bay?

Certified extension stylists work at every J. Joseph Salon location: Land O' Lakes, Lutz, Tampa, Odessa and Wesley Chapel. Book online, choose your location, then Consultations, then Hair Extensions Consultation.
